Learning the bagpipes

Are you interested in learning the pipes and wondering what's involved?

When learning the Great Highland Bagpipe, a beginner will always start their piping journey on a practice chanter. Usually, it can take up to a year to become proficient with the fingerings and embellishments that are the backbone of Highland pipe music. From then, the learner will progress to the pipes themselves but the chanter will always be used every day to work on fingerings, working on the embellishments as well as practicing tunes and learning new ones.

I'm now offering a limited number of slots for learning the pipes and I'll be offering one-to-one lessons via WhatsApp or Zoom video call. All you need is a practice chanter and dedication! I can teach from beginner to a more upper- intermediate level and I've over 23 years of experience as a piper!

Please get in touch if you are thinking of learning how to play this challenging but rewarding instrument. You don't even have to be Scottish!
